Whether you’re moving internationally, flying domestically, or just need a lift to the vet — I’ve got your pet covered with personalised, expert care.
International Travel
Pet transport is not cheap — it is more than just the price of an airfare. There are vet requirements, a suitable IATA approved travel crate, and lots of paperwork. I can provide a quote for the service you need.
How much would you like to do yourself? I can provide the full door to door service for pets with personal one on one attention, or if you prefer to do as much as you can yourself, I can help arrange this and keep your budget to a minimum.
Vet Requirements & Treatments
Each country has a different set of requirements which can include treatments and/or vaccinations. In some cases, a permit and even blood tests are required. Some of these can be time restrictive so please contact me as early as possible.
Travel Crates
Pets need to be transported in IATA approved travel crates. Most that are sold here in New Zealand are not approved for airline travel. I can provide a suitable crate to suit your cat or dog — yours to keep.
Residence Pick Up / Airport Drop Off
I can provide a pick-up service from your residence, or we can meet at the airport on the day of the flight. Pets must be checked in up to 3 hours prior to departure. Original export documents must travel with your pet.
Pre-Flight Boarding
Your pets can spend a relaxing and stress-free night in my home prior to flying. If you require any additional boarding I work with excellent boarding facilities who also specialise in top quality one on one care.
Book Flights
International flights need to be booked with a registered pet exporter. I can arrange this with your preferred airline. Not all airlines fly pets or to every destination — please discuss this with me before booking your own flights.
VIP Service
As I specialise in small numbers I have the time to provide a personalised service. Feel free to contact me at any time — I will be dealing with you personally from start to finish.
Domestic Travel
Elite Pet Services is an Air New Zealand approved shipper. Air New Zealand will no longer allow bookings direct from the public for domestic pet travel. I can provide an airline approved crate if required (for purchase) and book your pet’s domestic flight from/to any airport around the country.
Weekend flights are available for pets. Check in time for pets is 70 minutes prior to departure.
Pets travelling as cargo can only be checked in by an approved pet shipper due to new aviation security requirements, however you are able to collect your pet/s from the airport yourself. Photo ID is required at all airports.
Your pets fly under the terms and conditions of Air New Zealand.
If you are using your own travel crate it must adhere to IATA live animal regulations. It must have a spring lock door and metal screws along the sides of the crate. The door must be able to be cable tied securely and your pet must be able to stand/sit up comfortably in the crate. All cages must have a water bowl. Cages that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted for travel.
Pet Taxi Service
Do you need help getting your pet to the vet or a boarding facility? I can provide a pick up / drop off service to facilities in the Franklin area. Price on application.

About Us
About Elite Pet Services
In 2006 I returned to New Zealand after extensive overseas travel, mainly working with race horses. For the past 19 years I have combined my love of travel and animals working in the pet transport industry. I realized during this time that like myself, most people love their pets like children and appreciate that extra care and service that I am willing to provide.
Having travelled my own dog internationally, I also understand the anxiety involved with moving your pets from country to country — so I can offer support and my own experience.
I have moved hundreds of pets to every continent in the world, so feel free to ask any questions.
Based in Franklin, I can easily access the Auckland and Waikato area.
